You Know You’re a Mom When…

You know you’re a mom when…

you haven’t had a full night’s sleep in over two years.

the day’s biggest conversation is about poop.

you freely talk about poop, often.

      spit up doesn’t faze you.

you use your shirt to wipe your child’s runny nose.

your dinner is cold by the time you’re able to sit down at the table.

you’re a lone and you can still hear crying.

      you’re favorite sound is a baby’s giggle.

one tiny smile can melt your heart.

I’m tired. I can’t remember the last time I shaved my legs. I own more pairs of yoga pants then jeans. I drive a minivan instead of my dream Jeep. I eat cookies in the closet because I don’t want to share I don’t like feeding my kids junk food. I watch Mickey Mouse and Handy Manny instead of the News.

I have three babies, 6 years, 2 years, and 7 months. Being a mom is the hardest thing I have ever done. Even though its hard and my days run together I wouldn’t change it for the world. This is what I was supposed to be when I grew up.

Being a mom is hard. So very hard. There are some days when I don’t know how I make it to bed time. Then there are some days that we breeze right through. Most days it is hard. They are not bad days, just hard days. These hard days won’t last. It is not forever; there is an end. Sounds odd but I’m sure I will miss them. Good thing I take lots of photos of my babies.

You know you’re a mom when you don’t get tired of photographing your child in the same pose over and over.

I relate to every single word you said. It IS hard, and we really need to give ourselves credit for making it through the day sometimes. Sometimes when my husband asks me how my day was, I say “I kept everybody alive today. It was the best I could do.”
